Comfort Zone Camp Provides Healing For Children
Started in 1998 in Richmond, Virginia, Comfort Zone Camp is the nation’s largest bereavement camp for children. The purpose of the camp is to offer bereaved children the opportunity to remember their loved ones in a safe and healing camp environment. In 2001, in response to the tragic events of 9/11, CZC expanded on the east coast offering a camp location in New Jersey for the children who lost loved ones in the New York tragedy. Now with the assistance of TUSD employee, Bob Delonti, CZC will host its first ever west coast camp in September 2008. Bob has been involved in the organization as a Big Buddy, volunteering his time to provide a safe haven to bereaved children. To get more information about the camp or to get involved as a volunteer, please visit their website at www.comfortzonecamp.org or contact Bob by emailing him at bob@comfortzonecamp.org or by phone at (424) 212-1348.
