APPLICATION PACKET INSTRUCTIONS
Please Read Carefully!

Torrance Tykes Preschool provides half day preschool that is funded by the Child Development Division (CDD) of the California Department of Education and Torrance Unified School District. State funding provides services to families who are income qualified.

State Preschool: for children who are 3 years old before December 2nd of the current school year and fully toilet trained.

KidZone Preschool and Childcare: for children who are 3 years old before December 2nd of the current school year and fully toilet trained (2.5 years and toilet trained for Childcare).


In order to begin the enrollment process for preschool and/or childcare, you must complete an application packet that includes all of the documents listed below:

- Preliminary Application Form (can be downloaded and printed from this website): This form must be filled in ENTIRELY and signed. Please read the FRAUD STATEMENT carefully before signing!
- Child's Birth Certificate: Hospital records, birth record abstracts and passports are accepted
- Child's Immunization Record with all vaccinations current
- Proof of California Residency: Two (2) pieces of mail that verify California residence
- Income verification: all adults included in the family must provide proof of gross monthly income. The following are acceptable forms of income verification:
(1) Paystubs showing one month of income
(2) Current Notice of Action for CALWORKS, SSI, EDD or disability
(3) Students receiving financial aid must submit an itemized financial disbursement statement and a class schedule for the current semester, issued by the school you are attending.
