TUSD Board of Education to Conduct Public Workshop

February 20, 2008

On Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at J.H. Hull School at Levy, TUSD staff will present budget cut recommendations to the Board of Education in an effort to combat the $8.7 million deficit created by the Governor’s proposed state budget for the 2008-2009 year. The Budget Workshop is an opportunity for the Torrance community to hear staff recommendations and provide their input to the Board. This workshop is open to the public.

The Governor’s 2008-2009 proposed budget requires cuts by every state department and agency in order to overcome the estimated $14.5 billion shortfall. This means, ALL California school districts will have to find ways to reduce their spending to accommodate the monetary gap created by this budget.

J.H. Hull at Levy is located at 3420 229th Place in Torrance. Workshop will take place in the school’s cafeteria.
