ExxonMobil Pegasus Awards

November 13, 2007

Torrance, CA – Every year ExxonMobil provides a total of $100,000 in grants to the teachers of Torrance Unified School District which supports enrichment programs in every subject area. The Pegasus Awards allow teachers to expand the educational experience of TUSD students by providing supplemental supplies and programs to existing curriculum.

The ExxonMobil grant money will provide support materials such as DNA demonstration sets, digital cameras, books on CD, and dry erase boards. The grant money will also provide teachers with the resources for students to compete in a jazz festival and visit the Cabrillo Aquarium. Additionally, the STEM Awards provide specific grants for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics to enhance students’ knowledge in these core areas.

Torrance Unified School District’s mission is to provide students with the tools to be successful life long learners. ExxonMobil’s support helps TUSD accomplish this goal.

The ExxonMobil Pegasus Awards will be on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center, Toyota Meeting Hall at 4 pm. The Toyota Meeting Hall is located at 3350 Civic Center Drive, in Torrance.
