L.A. Kings Visit Torrance Elementary
On Tuesday November 6, 2007 the L.A. Kings will be visiting Torrance Elementary School as part of their community school visits. Torrance Elementary School’s 2nd grade teacher, Rebecca Kanehl, is an avid Kings fan. Last year, as a writing exercise, Ms. Kanehl had her students write to the King’s Coach, Marc Crawford. In response to the letters, Coach Crawford came to visit the 2nd graders and shared his love of reading with them during story time. This year Coach Crawford is bringing his team with him to visit the students in grades 1 through 5. The hockey players will talk to the students about their experiences, discuss the importance of being responsible citizens, and share some of their winning playing strategies.
The L.A. Kings believe in taking care of their community. Through their various charitable endeavors the Kings donate not only money but also their time. They are committed to helping others and making a difference.
