Many employees have questions about how to proceed when applying for another District position. Here are some helpful tips and answers to commonly asked questions. Please refer to Chapter 4 Application for Employment in the Classified Employee Handbook for more detailed information.
Q: My records are already on file from the last time I applied. Do I need to fill out another application?
A: A separate application is required for each recruitment. Although you may have tested previously for this position, a new application is required for this new recruitment.
Q: Is there a special application for employees?
A: No, there is only one application for classified positions. Remember to tailor your application to the specific position for which you are applying.
Q: Can I attach resumes, letters of recommendation, or certificates?
A: You may attach these documents to your application. However, the formatted District application must be completed to receive consideration for the position.
Q: I’m a current employee, performing all the duties on my job description? Do I still need to list all my job duties on the application?
A: Yes, it is critical to list your job duties as it relates to the position. Verify that you have listed all of your relevant paid and volunteer experience that you want considered to meet the minimum qualifications. You may attach additional sheets if you need more space to highlight your experience.
Q: Can I get a copy of my application?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot make copies of your application. Please make copies before submitting it.
