CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Dr. Griffith at 3:30 p.m.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ms. Kathy Kelley, CSEA 845, Treasurer, Executive Board.
Dr. Koga introduced new Personnel Commission staff member Mr. Brandon Tietze, Associate Personnel Analyst (see attached Biography of Brandon Tietze).
APPROVAL OF MINUTES –Regular Meeting of May 15, 2007
Dr. Klonecky moved, seconded by Mr. Furey, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 15, 2007. Motion carried 3/0.
APPROVAL OF ELIGIBILITY LISTS- Associate Personnel Analyst, Child Development Program Assistant-Tier II, Food Services Assistant, Language Assessment Proctor-Tier I/Tier II, Manager-Information Services, Manager-Technology Services, School Secretary I, Staff Assistant-Human Resources
Dr. Klonecky moved, seconded by Mr. Furey, that the Eligibility Lists – Associate Personnel Analyst, Child Development Program Assistant-Tier II, Food Services Assistant, Language Assessment Proctor-Tier I/Tier II, Manager-Information Services, Manager-Technology Services, School Secretary I, Staff Assistant-Human Resources be approved. Motion carried 3/0.
APPROVAL OF NEW JOB DESCRIPTION – Public Information Officer
Dr. Klonecky moved, seconded by Mr. Furey, that the new job description of Public Information Officer be approved. Motion carried 3/0.
APPROVAL OF 2007-2008 Salary Survey
Dr. Klonecky moved, seconded by Mr. Furey, that the 2007-2008 Salary Survey be approved. Motion carried 3/0.
APPROVAL TO PAY INVOICE NO. 10649302-LEGAL SERVICES-KRISTINE KWONG, Esq., HINSHAW & CULBERTSON LLP
Dr. Klonecky moved, seconded by Mr. Furey, that Invoice No. 10649302 for legal services-Kristine Kwong, Esq., Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, be approved for payment. Motion carried 3/0.

COMMENTS FROM STAFF
Dr. Koga announced the 2007-2008 Personnel Commission Budget was approved by the Board and Los Angeles County Office of Education (see attached).
Dr. Koga announced the upcoming California School Personnel Commissioners Association (CSPCA) Merit System Academy, which will be conducted over five sessions in two Southern California locations. She added that individuals of all levels, ranging from commissioners to union representatives as well as staff, are encouraged to attend the Merit System Academy.
Dr. Koga congratulated Mr. Furey on being elected as President of Torrance Education Foundation.
Dr. Koga noted that City of Torrance Chief of Police, John Neu, was the guest speaker at the last North Torrance Homeowners Association meeting hosted by President Patrick Furey.
COMMENTS FROM PERSONNEL COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Furey reported on the success of Torrance Education Foundation’s Rotary Club-sponsored fundraiser, “Downtown Sounds,” on Sunday, June 3, 2007. He stated all the proceeds will be donated to Torrance schools music programs.
Dr. Griffith stated he attended the Oodles of Noodles Festival on Sunday, June 3, 2007, where local restaurants displayed their noodle dishes and local non-profit organizations performed.
COMMENTS FROM THOSE IN ATTENDANCE
Mr. Kevin Peralta, SEIU Local 99 Labor Representative, addressed the issue of Title I funding in public school districts.
