CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Dr. Griffith at 3:00 p.m.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Dr. Klonecky.
2007-2008 PERSONNEL COMMISSION BUDGET WORKSHOP
No action taken. The budget workshop is an informational open session of the Personnel Commission.
PUBLIC HEARING-PERSONNEL COMMISSION BUDGET-2007-2008
Dr. Klonecky requested that this item and the approval item be tabled for May, 2007 meeting in order to provide ample time for classified employees to review the budget.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES –Regular Meeting of April 3, 2007
Dr. Klonecky moved, seconded by Mr. Furey, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 3, 2007 be approved. Motion carried 3/0.
APPROVAL OF 2007-2008 PERSONNEL COMMISSION BUDGET
Dr. Klonecky moved, seconded by Mr. Furey, that this item be tabled until the May 1, 2007 Personnel Commission meeting. Motion carried 3/0.
APPROVAL OF ELIGIBILITY LISTS-Instructional Assistant-Computer Lab, School Bus Driver
Dr. Klonecky moved, seconded by Mr. Furey, that the Eligibility List-Instructional Assistant-Computer Lab, School Bus Driver be approved. Motion carried 3/0.
APPROVAL OF NEW JOB DESCRIPTION – Manager-Information Services and Manager-Technology Services
Dr. Klonecky moved, seconded by Mr. Furey, that the new job descriptions of Manager-Information Services and Manager-Technology Services be approved. Motion carried 3/0.

COMMENTS FROM STAFF
Dr. Koga noted that at the next meeting of the Personnel Commission, May 1, 2007, 4:30 p.m., the reclassification item would be on the agenda. She further added that Commissioners may receive employee letters requesting additional consideration in which she assured employees that Commissioners would review before voting on the proposed item. Dr. Koga summarized the reclassification process pointing out that classified employees were always welcome to address the Commissioners in person at any public meeting.
Dr. Koga read a letter from Donna Duperron, Vice President/COO, Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce, to Dr. Owen Griffith acknowledging his continued dedication to the students of the Torrance Unified School District. She further noted that he would receive recognition for his many years of service at the Chamber Foundation State of Education luncheon on Friday, May 11, 2007 at the Torrance Hilton/South Bay. Dr. Griffith noted that it had been his pleasure to serve the Torrance community.
COMMENTS FROM THOSE IN ATTENDANCE
Ms. Kathy Kelly, CSEA Chapter 845 Executive Board, thanked Dr. Koga for upholding and enforcing Classified Rules and Regulations.
Mr. Kevin Peralta, SEIU Local 99 Labor Representative, introduced himself to the Personnel Commission.
