CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Dr. Griffith at 3:30 p.m.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Ms. Kwan.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Regular Meeting of January 23, 2007
Dr. Klonecky moved, seconded by Mr. Furey, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 23, 2007 be approved. Motion carried 3/0.

APPROVAL OF ELIGIBILITY LISTS-Child Development Instructor, Food Services Cook, Food Services Satellite Operator, Food Services Supervisor I, Health Clerk, Instructional Assistant-Bilingual, Instructional Assistant-Computer Lab, and Paraeducator-Tier I/ Tier II
Dr. Klonecky moved, seconded by Mr. Furey, that the Eligibility Lists-Child Development Instructor, Food Services Cook, Food Services Satellite Operator, Food Services Supervisor I, Health Clerk, Instructional Assistant-Bilingual, Instructional Assistant-Computer Lab, and Paraeducator Tier I/Tier II be approved. Motion carried 3/0.

APPROVAL OF NEW JOB DESCRIPTION-STATE INFORMATION EXCHANGE SPECIALIST
Dr. Klonecky moved, seconded by Mr. Furey, that the new job description State Information Exchange Specialist be approved. Motion carried 3/0.

APPROVAL OF NEW JOB DESCRIPTIONS-ENERGY EDUCATOR/MANAGER
Dr. Klonecky moved, seconded by Mr. Furey, that the new job description Energy Educator/Manager be approved. Motion carried 3/0.

COMMENTS FROM STAFF
Dr. Koga stated the Personnel Commission is currently accepting reclassification applications through February 15, 2007. She also stated that by February 20, 2007, she will notify the Personnel Commissioners of the number of applications and how the Personnel Commission will proceed with the consultant’s services.

Ms. Kwan reported that she and Dr. Koga attended a CODESP training session entitled Potential Pitfalls in Setting Minimum Qualifications on January 30, 2007.

COMMENTS FROM PERSONNEL COMMISSIONERS
Mr. Furey noted that he and Dr. Koga attended the CSEA Installation Luncheon on January 27, 2007. He pointed out that he was hosted by CSEA Chapter 19 and Dr. Koga was hosted by CSEA Chapter 845. Mr. Furey also noted he and Dr. Koga attended the Educational Council of Torrance (ECT) event on February 5, 2007. He commended the featured school, Adams Elementary, and the programs highlighted during the event. Mr. Furey reminded everyone of the Torrance Education Foundation Dinner—“An Affair in Black & White”--on Saturday, March 31, 2007, 6:30 p.m. at the Torrance Marriott Hotel. He noted that a 2007 Toyota Prius donated by Toyota Motor Sales would be raffled at the event with a limited number of raffle tickets now available for purchase. Mr. Furey further added that groups may volunteer to sell tickets and receive $5 from each ticket donated back to their school site club.

Dr. Griffith noted that he had also attended the recent ECT meeting on February 5th in which former Mayor Dee Hardison and many other community members were in attendance. He praised the many informative presentations such as Fiscal Services Officer Judy Chai who reported on the TUSD budget. He further noted future ECT meetings on March 5, 2007, April 2, 2007 and May 7, 2007 in which each meeting will feature a different school and program. Dr. Griffith announced that the Annual College Fair will take place at North High School on Saturday, February 24, 2007 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. He noted that he would attend the PTA Open Council Luncheon at Levy Adult School on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at 10:45 a.m.
