Al Muratsuchi
Al Muratsuchi was elected to the Board in November 2005. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley and a Juris Doctor degree from UCLA. Al is currently serving as a Deputy Attorney General with the California Department of Justice. He has served as Chairman, Torrance Planning Commission; Commissioner, Torrance Environmental Quality and Energy Conservation Commission; President, Torrance Sister City Association; director, League of Women Voters of Torrance; and President, South Bay JACL. Prior to his election to the Board, Al has supported Torrance schools as a member of the Torrance Unified School District Advisory Committee on Facilities, representative to the Educational Council of Torrance, and member and supporter of the Torrance Education Foundation.
