CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Dr. Klonecky at 3:30 p.m.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Dr. Griffith.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES --Regular Meeting of April 19, 2005.
Mr. Busch moved, seconded by Dr. Griffith, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 19, 2005 be approved. Motion carried 3/0.
APPROVAL OF CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE RECRUITMENT PLAN -- 2005-2006
Mr. Busch moved, seconded by Dr. Griffith, that the Classified Employee Recruitment Plan, 2005-2006 be approved. Motion carried 3/0.
APPROVAL OF ELIGIBILITY LIST -- MANAGER-INFORMATION SYSTEM
Dr. Griffith moved, seconded by Mr. Busch, that the Eligibility List -- Manager-Information System be approved. Motion carried 3/0.
APPROVAL TO PAY INVOICE FROM KAUFMAN DOWNING LLP
Mr. Busch questioned the charge on March 9, 2005 for a telephone conference with Alicia Loncar, SEIU Local 99, in the amount of $110. The item was tabled until the next meeting on May 17, 2005 pending further verification of charges.

COMMENTS FROM STAFF
Ms. Koga noted that pursuant to Personnel Commission Rule 6.2.4 Certification and Appointment from Eligibility Lists (see attached), administrators (4 total) who were in receipt of Certification of Top 3 Ranks/Transfer Requests for the permanent position of custodian were notified that under this rule, they must set up interviews and make a selection for the open position.Personnel Commissioners commended staff efforts to ensure that classified employees receive the benefits of permanency (i.e., salary step increases, health insurance and PERS Retirement benefits). They further directed staff to provide a status report on these appointments at the June 7, 2005 meeting of the Personnel Commission in order to proceed with Personnel Commission Rule 9.1.2 Payroll Review.
COMMENTS FROM COMMISSIONERS
Dr. Klonecky inquired if staff had received a response from the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder's Office in connection with the misinformation in the Daily Breeze article of March 23, 2005.Commissioners requested that staff contact the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder's Office concerning their response.

Dr. Klonecky thanked each individual for their input and referred them to Personnel Commission staff.
