CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Dr. Klonecky at 3:35 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES -- April 20, 2004
Mr. Busch moved, seconded by Dr. Griffith, that the minutes of the regular meeting of April 20, 2004 be approved. Motion carried 3/0.
APPROVAL OF RECLASSIFICATION STUDY FOR FISCAL YEAR -- 2004-2005
Mr. Busch moved, seconded by Dr. Griffith, that the following be approved:
Ms. Karen Brotter -- Testing Administrative Specialist, EMB
Create the Class of Testing Coordinator in accordance with the attached Class Specification.
Recommend that the Board place the Class of Testing Coordinator on Range 21 of the Classified Salary Schedule--C, Bargaining Unit B--Clerical/Technical.
Reclassify Ms. Brotter from Testing Administrative Specialist to Testing Coordinator with an effective date of July 1, 2004.Motion carried 3/0.
Mr. Busch moved, seconded by Dr. Griffith, that the following be approved:
Mr. Louis Buchanan -- Computer Repair Technician, Maintenance Include the reclassification request of Mr. Buchanan, et al, in any District reorganization proposal scheduled mid-year (approximately January 2005).Motion carried 3/0.
Dr. Griffith moved, seconded by Mr. Busch, that the following be approved:
Ms. Sheryl Hohn -- Staff Secretary, EMB
Change the class title from Testing Administrative Specialist to Testing Specialist.
Recommend that the Board modify the duties of the Class of Testing Specialist in accordance with the attached Class Specification.
Reclassify Ms. Hohn from Staff Secretary to Testing Specialist with an effective date of July 1, 2004.Motion carried 3/0.
Mr. Busch moved, seconded by Dr. Griffith, that the following be approved:
Ms. Bobbye Magee and Ms. Carmen Nazarin -- Child Care Attendant, Even Start
Recommend that the Board merge the Class of Child Care Attendant and Child Development Program Assistant to Child Development Program Assistant-Tier I/Tier II in accordance with the attached Class Specification and that all current employees within these classes be reclassified appropriately. Salary Ranges would remain unchanged with Tier I (current Child Care Attendant) at Range A9 and Tier II (Child Development Program Assistant) at Range A4.
Reclassify Ms. Magee and Ms. Nazarin from Child Care Attendant to Child Development Program Assistant-Tier II with an effective date of July 1, 2004.Motion carried 3/0.
Dr. Griffith moved, seconded by Mr. Busch, that the following be approved:
Ms. Jeanne Donna Stone -- Office Assistant III, School-to-Career Programs
Reclassify Ms. Stone from Office Assistant III to Staff Secretary with an effective date of July 1, 2004.Motion carried 3/0.
Mr. Busch moved, seconded by Dr. Griffith, that the following be approved:
Ms. Hiroko Sumi -- Staff Secretary, Personnel Commission
Recommend that the Commission create the Class of Staff Assistant-Personnel Commission in accordance with the attached Class Specification.
Recommend that the Board place the Class of Staff Assistant-Personnel Commission on Salary Range 19 of the Classified Salary Schedule--C, Bargaining Unit B--Clerical/Technical.
Reclassify Ms. Sumi from Staff Secretary to Staff Assistant-Personnel Commission with an effective date of July 1, 2004.Motion carried 3/0.
Dr. Griffith moved, seconded by Mr. Busch, that the following be approved:
Ms. Thomaneck -- Secretary, Food Services
Recommendation to the Commission:
Recommend that the Board modify the duties of the Class of Food Services Technician in accordance with the attached Class Specification.
Recommend that the Board place the Class of Food Services Technician on Range 16 of the Classified Salary Schedule--C, Bargaining Unit B--Clerical/Technical.
Reclassify Ms. Thomaneck from Secretary to Food Services Technician with an effective date of July 1, 2004.Motion carried 3/0.
Dr. McCann noted that the approved Personnel Commission Budget would be forwarded to the District for further processing.

COMMENTS FROM STAFF
Dr. McCann reported that we received a memorandum from the Superintendent dated April 15, 2004 regarding the 2004-05 Budget. After discussions, the consensus of Commission and staff was to continue to freeze the vacant position and review on a quarterly basis. (See attachments)
