Next Regular Commission Meeting - February 3, 2004, 5:30 p.m. COMMENTS FROM STAFF
Dr. McCann commented on the memorandum from Superintendent Fish dated November 26, 2003 suggesting that mid-year budget reductions would be proposed to the Board of Education in January 2004. He suggested that development continue to be monitored particularly those related to the State of California bond initiative in March noting that this will impact the financial alternatives available to the K-12 education budget.
Dr. McCann further related that all schools and departments received a flyer regarding the reclassification policy. The period between January 15 and February 15 (extended to February 17 due to the holiday schedule) is designated as the time period for review of requests for reclassification. (Rule 3.3.1)
In addition, Dr. McCann noted that Reclassification Consultant, Mr. Richard Ide, would be tentatively available to conduct the evaluation of reclassifications received from classified employees.
Further, he indicated that the January 2004 Handbooks are available for distribution and will be sent to each individual classified employee. This handbook is also available on Outlook and the District Website.
