Leadership Camps: Pali, Astro, & Cimi

Leadership Opportunities Graphic02

Leadership overnight camp opportunities are offered to students at Jefferson Middle School in each grade level who display the optimum of our JMS motto of R.E.A.L. characteristics. These characteristics include exhibiting leadership through advanced Effort, Citizenship, Academics and Positive Behavior for the quarter of the school year prior to the camp invite distribution.  Students must met all qualifications to be invited to the camp. Qualifications required are as follows:

  • Principal’s Honor Roll = 3.8 GPA or above (No grades of a ‘C’, ‘D’, or  ‘F’)
  • Strong Effort in all Classes: No ‘U’ or ‘N’s noted
  • Positive Behavior: No behavior referrals or infractions in the current school year.

Students meeting the above qualifications, by the end of the first quarter of the school year (since all site planning, payments and submissions to camps are required from the school during the second quarter) are then invited for the opportunity to attend the leadership camp in their grade level. Sixth grade students have the opportunity to attend the Pali Institute in the San Bernardino Mountains. Seventh grade students have the opportunity to attend AstroCamp in Idyllwild, and eighth grade students have the opportunity to attend Camp CIMI on Catalina Island. Each camp offers limited spots, therefore enrollment in camp is on a first come, first serve basis with the proper paperwork and payment submitted to the school office.
