APPLICATION PROCESS
Job announcements are accessible in the following ways:
What is an Employment Interest Card?
An Employment Interest Card/form is a pre-printed card/form that interested applicants may fill out requesting notice of future job vacancies in their area of interest. The Employment Interest Cards can be completed at the Personnel Commission Office or online. They are good for 6 months, so if you do not receive notice within that time period, please submit another if you are still interested in hearing about an upcoming recruitment for that classification.
How do I submit an employment application?
How often can I apply for the same classification?
If it is open for recruitment, you may file an application before the deadline. However, you are ineligible to retest for the same classification within ninety (90) days of failing a part of the examination process.
How is the application reviewed/assessed?
The education and experience of the job description is established to assess whether or not an applicant has met the minimum qualifications for the position. The Personnel Commission staff will review the information provided on the application and other prerequisite materials (i.e., typing certificate, transcripts) if needed, to determine if the applicant has met the minimum education and experience requirements.
Additional documents, such as resumes, certifications, or letters of reference may be attached to the application. Do not, however, state “see resume” when asked for a description of job responsibilities and duties. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of the information you provide on the application. Failure to include all information requested may result in the rejection of an application.
