The New Elementary Report Card
With the advent of state content standards and testing requirements, such as the California Standards Test, it has become increasingly important to provide parents, guardians, and caregivers with information about the academic progress that their children make.
T.U.S.D. administrators, teachers, parents, and others, worked together to create a new report card that fulfills this need. It is called a Standards Based Report Card (SBRC) and it has been developed for all elementary grades Preppy (Pre-Kindergarten) through 5th grade. We believe that this new report card will provide parents with more information about the overall academic performance of their children as well as information about the acquisition of specific skills. Over time, we also believe that children will learn more and that their academic achievement will grow as a result of these report cards.
Two elementary schools are currently utilizing the SBRCs: Carr and Hickory. All elementary sites are expected to eventually be using the SBRCs.
