Disciplinary Action
Any negative action affecting an employee's status in class where he/she has permanency, including dismissal, suspension, demotion or reassignment without voluntary consent.

Dismissal (or Discharge)
Separation from the District for cause in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the Personnel Commission.

An enforced absence of an employee without pay for disciplinary purposes, or pending the outcome of an investigation of changes that have been filed against the employee.  A suspension may be for a period not to exceed thirty (30) assigned working days.

A change in assignment of an employee from a position in one class to an position in another class which is allocated to a lower maximum salary rate or status without the employee's written voluntary consent.
